The "March-ON Arkansas" August 28, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The “March-On… Arkansas”
53 Years Later, Arkansas… America— Our Legacy: Where Are We Now?  Rev. Dr.  Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" Speech Resounded and 'Day of Empowerment' at Arkansas State Capitol with Convention to Follow

The nation is in an uproar.  Hate is at an all time high and honor is at an all time low.  God is talking.  Where are the preachers?  What more do we need to see?  Who will lead us?  Where is the model of hope?  Hear our cry oh lord but not only do we need you to hear us, let the people who love you come together as one!

Little Rock, AR July 9, 2016 – The 53rd anniversary of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech will be resounded with a day themed, The Legacy Assignment 2016: Reflecting the Past… Inspecting the Present… and Projecting the Future. The event is set for August 28 at 6pm on the steps of the State Capitol with the “March-On Arkansas” declaring Arkansas upwards and onwards.

Fifty-three years ago on August 28, 1963 at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, Rev. Dr. King delivered his most famous prophecy on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. This salute both uplifts the message of Rev. King as well as issue a relevant call to action in honor of the slain biblical rights preacher, pastor and prophet who gave the ultimate sacrifice by laying down his life.

Organizers, the Arkansas NAACP, The College of Aspiring Artists and the Original PBICVR Kingfest convey that in this critical time of race relations, riots and outcries, a need for love and non-violent principles, as exemplified by Rev. Dr. King and leaders in his day is urgent. Furthermore, that Arkansas and the nation are in urgent need of modeling and putting on display the principles taught by Dr. King.  The salute will feature national and international speakers, preachers and creative talents who will challenge the nation from Arkansas to do what is right and work forward with a legacy initiative to keep it right.

The theme in part, “Reflecting the Past… Inspecting the Present… and Projecting the Future” is a continuation from the first national tribute held in Memphis, Tennessee on the first Federal Holiday of the birthday of Rev. Dr. King. Today, with an intense focus on healing, reconciliation, restoration and an updated movement of empowerment, it is being brought to Arkansas by the original producers. The Legacy Assignment 2016 Initiative focuses on a statewide effort committed to uplifting a positive image of Arkansas’ legacy on family and race and brings up to 12 Legacy Cities from across the state that will stand in solidarity both at the Capitol and then back to their cities as Arkansas Legacy Cities all year long.

Eight years ago on, August 28, 2008, at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, the William J. Clinton Foundation and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service sponsored the 45th Anniversary Salute in partnership with The College of Aspiring Artists for one of the opening chapters for a documentary film.  On this same day, Senator Barack Obama received the nomination for President of the United States at the Democratic Convention in Denver, Colorado and later this same year, 40 years beyond the final Prophecy of King, Mr. Obama would be elected the 1st African American President of these United States of America. What will happen this time? Organizers are inviting spiritual leaders, corporate, government, business, youth and community leaders along with concerned individuals to partner and sign on.  The speaker/talent lineup will be announced on August 1st.

MLK-JR  55th Anniversary of the March on Washington | " I Have a Dream" Speech/Prophecy “Inaugurating the nation with the first bible with Rev. Dr. King’s image on the cover, both spotlights and arms millions of people with ‘the most powerful weapon of love and hope that Rev. King used to convey— how God can use a man to bring the nation back to him.’ One value reset is shifting our youth, young adults and their parents from investing hundreds/thousands of dollars in ‘sneakers and styles’ celebrating and showcasing their favorite entertainers. They need this bible. For they will outgrow their sneakers and styles, but they will never outgrow a relationship with their Savior. Own it! Gift it! Read it… and see how God brings forth greater use from you and those you love.”   Philippians 1:6      Rev. Arthur L. Hunt, Jr., D.D., Publisher   ~ Bible
